Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) – Sergey Kovalev retained a trio of belts
with a technical knockout of Jean Pascal on Saturday night.
Kovalev (27-0-1) stopped Pascal in the eighth round to retain the WBA Super
World Light Heavyweight title, the IBF World Light Heavyweight crown and the
WBO World Light Heavyweight belt.
Kovalev is coming off a 12-round unanimous decision over Bernard Hopkins in
Atlantic City.
Pascal (29-3-1), who lost to Hopkins in 2011, was coming off a no contest
against Roberto Feliciano Bolonti. He previously defeated Lucian Bute to win
the vacant WBC Diamond light heavyweight title.
